On April 16, 2021, the Ontario Government announced new measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, including further limitations on essential construction.
This update is being provided to our industry partners on our current procedures relating to the Building Services within the City of Stratford. Our facilities remain closed to the public, but staff continue to work, permits are being processed and issued, and inspections are being completed at this time.

The City of Stratford is aware of a public rally being planned for Sunday, April 25 at Lower Queen’s Park.
The City has not provided a permit or approval for this event, and we share the community’s concern about this planned public gathering.
City officials will be meeting later today with Stratford Police and Huron Perth Public Health to discuss the issue, and will provide an update as soon as possible.

On April 12, the Province of Ontario announced the provision of emergency child care for eligible essential workers for their school-aged children.
In Stratford, Perth County and St. Marys, these spaces will be allocated in chronological order from application date and will only be available to those who are listed by the Province of Ontario as workers eligible for emergency child care. On Friday, April 16, the City of Stratford will re-open four public washrooms, in addition to the ones that are already open at City Hall and the Downie Street Transit Terminal.
That includes washrooms at:
